  • I'm Too Old to Get Adjusted
One of my patients came to the office with her mother who was sitting in the chair. She started to ask me a series of questions on chiropractic care. After I answered them, I asked her, well why don't you get adjusted? She replied to me, I'm just too old for that at this stage of my life. I said you're never too old or you're never too young for that matter to get a chiropractic adjustment. Even at the golden years of 80, you can still get a benefit from specific chiropractic care. She asked what benefit would that be? Read more
  • Headaches are common but not Normal
Society mistakenly believes that just the fact that many people have headaches makes them normal. Many people have that occasional headache but the frequency of how many people have them regularly may surprise you. At least one time per month about 15% of the population experience a headache, but there are some estimates and say that there are 5% or more have a headache every single day. This type of headache can be that only constant, but also debilitating at times. And headaches are one of the most common causes of disability with Americans. • Three types of Stress
Every day we deal with multiple levels of stress. I do think post COVID, there's a lot more stress than we ever had before. Current research suggests that between 75 and 90% of all doctor visits today are related to stress related illnesses. So where does all this stress come from? There are three different types of stress and each one affects our body in a different way. Read more
  • So what is Colic?
Colic is defined as the inability to comfort a crying young child or baby that exhibits periodic fussiness that can last up to hours or even days. This colic is characterized by a loud piercing cry, tightened or tensed stomach muscles, flexed legs and clenched fingers with the inability to try to calm down. In general it starts about three weeks of age and can last up to three months but even as long as six months. Colic affects approximately 10- 20% of newborns. While the research reports there is no one specific cause and with that in mind, makes it very difficult to treat a colicky baby. Other suggestions include that while you're breast-feeding, you sure don't want to consume foods that give you gas or indigestion like broccoli, cauliflower, garlic, onions and even spicy foods. it may be even as simple as an food allergy to the type of baby formula that you're feeding your newborn. • The Arc of Life
If you’re like I was, you might wonder how a chiropractor can help you improve conditions like asthma, headaches or numbness in hands. It all links back to the “Arc of Life” or natural C curve found in your neck. Adam Meade, Doctor of Chiropractic, explains that neurosurgeons refer to the curve of the cervical vertebrae the “Arc of Life” because these bones protect the brain stem which is also a passageway for spinal nerves that affect every organ and bodily function. When any one of the four natural curves (neck, mid back, low back and sacral regions) in the spine is misaligned it causes stress that affects the spinal discs, tissues and nerves. One of the most prevalent and destructive imbalances has to do with the cervical curve, the natural curve in the vertebrae of the neck. When we lose the proper curvature of the cervical and lumbar curves, we lose as much as 50% of our spinal strength. A 45-degree curve/arc gives the spinal cord the most room to function at 100%. • Why Didn’t My Pain Go Away After My First Adjustment?
One of the most frequently asked questions new chiropractic patients ask is “will I feel better right away?” The answer is solely based on the individual, length you had problem and the nature of their spinal issues. Many patients report feeling better right after an adjustment. Many more report feeling relaxed and flexible or “loose” after an adjustment. Sometimes people do not feel any different after their first appointment, which is completely normal. This does not mean the adjustment did not work or that nothing has changed. The normal nerve flow and neurons in the brain are newly restored/connected in your body and it can sometimes take a few days or weeks before you notice a difference or relief in the beginning of treatment. • Why don't my Adjustments hold or Last Longer?
Well, this answer can be quite simple and complex at the same time. Always remember, that a chiropractic judgment is not a permanent fix to a misalignment of the spine. We can get subluxations or misalignments every day and this depends on physical, emotional, mental and even Technological stress is that we placed on our body every day. Read more

  • Chiropractic care for All Ages and Stages of Life
One of the most inaccurate assumptions people make about chiropractic is that it is for any certain age or condition. The truth is that chiropractic care is useful and effective for people of ALL ages and stages of life, no one is too old or too young to get an adjustment. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring and maintaining the health of the body’s nervous system. When there is interference in the nervous system, it can cause dysfunction in the body and all of its different moving parts. This dysfunction occurs when the spine is out of alignment, which puts pressure on the nervous system. This is called a “subluxation” or misalignment. These subluxations will not only affect the way the body functions, but can also cause pain due to pinched, irritated, and compressed nerves. Read more
