So how is it that my arm pain and numbness in my hands is coming from my neck? So the answer to that is quite simple, while there can be other reasons that may be more serious problems causing your arm pain which need to be addressed by your physician. Typically what I find after a examination, consultation and x-rays that many times it is originating from the neck region. There is a series of nerves that come out of your neck called the brachial plexus, they form a network of nerves that innervate the shoulder, arm, forearm and hands.

When the spine becomes misaligned due to a recent accident, poor posture, bad habits, repetitive injury or even long-term wear and tear on the spine causing disc inflammation and Degenerative arthritic changes. The reasons you have pain or numbness can be one or several that you can have pressure on the nerve roots. When these nerve roots become irritated, you can have an array of symptoms which include dull, achy, numbness, pins and needles, stiffness and even muscle weakness.

As a chiropractor, after a through examination and x-rays, I find several vertebral spinal misalignments in the neck and the upper back regions which can contribute and cause many of these symptoms. After a series of specific spinal adjustments to the cervical and upper back region, the pressure becomes reduced with proper alignment and the pain decreases and feeling returns in the hands.
